Network Device Management |
With this service, MicroLink performs management of network devices that are not covered under another complex service, such as service Firewall. The managed devices may belong to the customer or they may be rented from MicroLink. Network Device Management includes, but is not limited to the following:
- availability of at least two certified specialists; assigning one specialist as a “first performer” of a device, always possessing a full knowledge of the configuration details;
- managing the configuration, documentation and other details about devices; maintaining the information in MicroLink’s service databases;
- 24h automated monitoring and alerting by MicroLink’s monitoring servers;
- regular check by administrator, analyze of logs and monitoring data;
- keeping watch and reacting on monitoring incidents;
- maintaining and updating the configuration according to the customers’ needs;
Devices most commonly covered under this service are Cisco and Juniper routers and firewalls, managed switches and wireless networking devices. Network Device Management will save the customer’s time and money, as there is a 24/7 staff available for a diminishing fraction of a cost of employing and training them. The customer thus has no need to train personnel or put network management on general IT staff that frequently is at best only somewhat acquainted with the many aspects of network devices and network security. Further more, there will be no need to order every minor configuration change or problem tracking as extra fee work. The service provider will be uptime-oriented, as profit comes from fluently working network, not from the work hours spent on fixing a bad problem gone worse.
